Training
is now more convenient for all council leaders and adults. Providing the training via
the internet coincides with the change in the tour permit policy. (At least one youth protection-trained leader is required for
all trips and outings that require a tour permit.)
This on-line training is an alternative to (not a replacement for) the existing training.
Upon completion of the training, the volunteer/leader will provide their
name, address, e-mail address, and council information. Once this information is
submitted, the volunteer/leader will download a letter from the Scout Executive,
local council youth protection reporting procedures, and a copy of course
materials. Upon the volunteer/leader's name being matched through the
registration database (PAS system), the volunteer will receive a certificate of
completion. If the name is not matched,
the volunteer/leader will receive everything but the certificate of completion.
The trainee may then take this information into
the council service center to prove completion of the training.
Keep in mind you will need your Person I D #, which is
located at the bottom of your registration card
(shown right).
If you are not sure what your Person ID # is, or you do not have a registration
card, please contact the Center for Scouting at
(920) 734-5705.
Additionally, non-registered persons can take the training but will NOT receive
the electronic certificate. Credit for the training will still be granted. If you are in need of the certificate for an upcoming event/trip, any of the
materials stating the course was completed and passed will suffice. Training cards can be issued at the Center for Scouting.
