Gathering (7:30 am) Digital Technology 8-11 am (Bring a Bag LUNCH) Photography 11:30am - 2:30 pm
Cost: $10/scout per badge, or $15 for both, adults free. Class “A” or “B” Uniform
Registration deadline: Received by Thursday, May 10, 2018

These badges are elective merit badges that contain requirements that scouts will need to complete independently, prior to attending the workshop. Merit badge counselors, Cheri Milheiser and Katie Grassel, will be leading these badges.

Scout(s) must come prepared! Scouts should complete and bring with them:

  • Read the Digital Technology and Photography Merit Badge pamphlets and workbooks. Start filling out the workbook with notes to make the discussions more productive http://meritbadge.org/wiki/images/d/d2/Digital_Technology.pdf and http://meritbadge.org/wiki/images/b/bf/Photography.pdf
  • Properly and fully filled out Blue Cards.
  • Digital Technology PRE-REQUISITES:

o Participants MUST have a completed Cyber Chip. You must either bring your Cyber Chip card or the completed paperwork to the merit badge to show that you have completed the requirements. (If completed over a year ago it must be recharged) Details for the Cyber Chip can be found at http://www.scouting.org/cyberchip.aspx
o Badge Requirement number 4b, 5b, 5c, 6e and 9a.
o Bring digital copies of 3 to 5 photos from a scouting event. These can be on a USB drive or on your Google drive. You will need to be able to access the pictures.

  • Photography PRE-REQUISITES:

o Participants MUST have a completed Cyber Chip. You must either bring your Cyber Chip card or the completed paperwork to the merit badge to show that you have completed the requirements. (If completed over a year ago it must be recharged) Details for the Cyber Chip can be found at http://www.scouting.org/cyberchip.aspx
o Bring own camera with removable memory card (may NOT be cell phone or tablet). Be sure battery is fully charged
o Take a minimum of 20 pictures of an activity or interest using the camera/memory card that will be brought the day of the merit badge.

  • Failure to arrive with the prerequisites completed will result in a partial.
