Bear Paw Summer Camp Trips

For all trips: Reservations are dependent on a number of factors: Weather, staff availability, participant qualification and other safety issues. We will do everything we can to make sure we can keep your trip reservation, however we do reserve the right to reschedule or cancel trips at camp for safety reasons. Whenever possible, we will reschedule a trip rather than cancel it. All trips going off camp property require transportation provided by participants and may require Unit adult leaders to attend to ensure youth protection requirements are met.

Trips may be scheduled Monday through Thursday. Units/Participants wishing to schedule on Friday (unless otherwise noted/approved in the chart below) or for a group wanting to attend that is lager than capacities listed below, please contact Nick Manning.

Trip Details Total Overall Capacity Additional Requirements
Biking Trips Go mountain-biking to any one of nearly a dozen destinations, including Lost Mountain, the Nicolet Fire Tower, Waupee Falls and more. Trails are available for all levels of experience from beginner to highly experienced bikers. Trips can be arranged to last 1-2 hours, a full afternoon, all day, or new this year as a 2-3 day overnight Bike Trek! 15 Participants per Trip For the overnight bike trip, Scouts must be 14 or have ability for long distance biking.
Sailing Trips Head out to Anderson Lake with our sail boats to learn the basics of sailing on the water. This trip takes a full afternoon and is dependent on weather conditions.  6 Participants per Trip

Participants must be 14 and older. If any younger Scouts wish to attend, they may be able based on their ability/knowledge.

All participants must pass the BSA Swimmer Test.

Hiking/Backpacking Treks Take a hiking trip to Lost Mountain, Butler Rock and other destinations in the Nicolet National Forest. Hikes can be arranged as an afternoon, day, or overnight trek for small or larger groups. Not limited None
Whitewater Tubing Go tubing down Bagley Rapids on the Oconto River. This trip takes a full afternoon. 12 Participants per Trip

Participants must be 14 and older.

Need at least 1 adult 21 or older in attendance. (This adult does not need to participate if not wishing to)

All participants must pass the BSA Swimmer Test

Chute Pond Take an afternoon trip to nearby Chute Pond. This reservior has great cliff jumping locations and a natural waterslide formed from smooth rock along a stream. 15 Participants per Trip

Need at least 1 adult 21 or older in attendance. (This adult does not need to participate if not wishing to)

All participants must pass the BSA Swimmer Test

Canoe Trips Get a taste of the Boundary Waters right here in Wisconsin and go canoeing on the Peshtigo River or other nearby waterways! Canoe trips can be afternoon, full day, or overnight treks. 15 Participants per Trip

Participants must be 14 and older.

Need at least 1 adult 21 or older in attendance. (This adult does not need to participate if not wishing to)

All participants must pass the BSA Swimmer Test

Climbing/Rappelling Climbing trips for groups or individuals are available most afternoons and Friday morning. Sign-up in advance for a time to go climbing and/or rappelling on one of our two natural rock faces: 35 feet for beginners or 70 feet for experienced climbers. 12 Participants per Activity Time None
