In conjunction with the Bay-Lakes Council's Growing Future Leaders, the Shooting Sports Committee has a plan for the future. The goal of this plan is to develop more interest in the Shooting Sports as a year round program. Implementation begins with training more people to become NRA Certified Instructors and Range Safety Officers. Our camps support rifle, shotgun, pistol and muzzleloader shooting.

The BSA National Shooting Sports Manual and the Bay-Lakes Council Shooting Sports Standard Operating Procedures mandate that a minimum of two trained individuals be present during any Scouting firearms use. One must be an NRA Certified Instructor in the shooting discipline used. The other must be an NRA Range Safety Officer. Individual shooting disciplines may require more than the minimum two individuals to be present.

There are classes scheduled in 2018.
