Unit Annual Program Planning
“Planning is bringing the future into the present so that you can do something about it now.”
Quality Scouting programs begin with program planning. Unit program planning is an annual process where a Unit invites all families to have input in the program and activities of the Unit. It is also the process of selecting great activities, developing a Unit calendar and budget and sharing the plan with all the families.
Benefits to a strong Unit program plan include:
- Well run, high quality activities for youth
- More parent involvement
- More youth participating in outdoor programs, including summer camp
- More funding with less fundraising, reducing the out of pocket expenses for parents
- More fun for everyone
