Friends of Scouting is an annual giving campaign, reaching
out to Scouting families, service organizations and businesses. Friends of
Scouting is one of the largest sources of funding for the Bay-Lakes Council. Nearly 25% of the operating budget is funded through this annual giving
campaign.
It costs approximately $125 to provide one year of quality
program for each Scout.
What does a Friends of Scouting membership provide?
- Local programs and activities throughout the Bay-Lakes
Council territory
- Camp scholarships and financial assistance
- Center for Scouting that coordinates Scouting activities
and provides customer service to members.
- Accident and liability insurance to protect both youth
and adult members
- Professional staff who counsel, guide, and inspire
volunteer leadership
- Camps and facilities available for year-round camping
and Cub Scout outdoor events. This includes the Cub Scout World facility at
Camp Rokilio.
- Opportunities to attend summer camp at Gardner Dam and
Bear Paw Scout Camps.
- Advancement program where Scouts are recognized for
learning and making progress on goals they set and attain,
- Literature and training material development and
distribution,
- Learning for Life, in-school and workplace based program
to prepare young people for various careers.
